Hala Equipment Trading began operations in 1998 to provide quality material handling solutions for UAE’s burgeoning industries. Over the years, we have grown and diversified to become one of the key players in the country’s material handling and transport services sector, with Electric Forklifts, Diesel Forklifts, Industrial Sweepers, and Construction Machinery. We also have rental equipment and Container Grounding services, supporting various industries.

Started by Mathew Abraham, a Mechanical Engineer, Hala has now transformed into a large business enterprise serving the whole of UAE and various other parts of the world with quality forklifts, wheel loaders, service and parts.
Mathew came to the UAE as a Works Manager at Jebel Pack at the end of 1996. But, an entrepreneur at heart, he was restless and wanted to embark on his own. Spotting an opportunity for reasonably priced forklifts, he set up Hala. He began by personally sourcing and importing used forklifts from Japan. These forklifts were reconditioned at his yard and then sold in good working condition. The reliable and professional after-sales service provided was a key factor in Hala’s success. Over the next few years, Hala expanded its business.
In 2002, Hala was the first to introduce Sideloaders in the UAE to efficiently handle freight containers. In 2003, Heli, the world’s 7th largest forklift manufacturer, made Hala their sole distributor in the UAE. In his quest for providing the best equipment for various new industries, he left no stone unturned. In 2018, Hala was appointed the sole distributor of Ceksan, one of the fastest growing Industrial Sweeper Manufacturers in the world. And in 2019, Hala joined hands with Ajax, the global leader of Self Loading Concrete Mixers. In 2023, it added Haide, Howe Tech and Efemmak and expanded its portfolio of Facility Management Equipment.
Hala’s 25 years of experience in dealing with forklifts of all types has turned into viable and sustainable business model, covering the complete supply chain for Material Handling Equipment for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman. We also support the the East Coast and Northern belts of Africa from the UAE.
Since 2003, we are the sole distributors of Heli in the UAE, the No. 1 Forklift manufacturer in China and amongst the World’s top ten for Material Handling Equipment. Heli is known internationally for its tough, efficient and innovative machines and is fast becoming a favorite of many industries.
Hala is also the sole distributor of Ceksan Sweepers in the UAE. One of the fastest growing European sweeper brands, Ceksan exports road sweeping vehicles and equipment across more than 50 countries in 6 continents.
In 2019, we became distributors for Ajax, the global leader in SLCM’s. Ajax builds simple and reliable equipment which are easy to operate and maintain, even in hot and arid climatic conditions.
Hala has recently added to its portfolio and introduced a host of Facility Management Equipment, representing proven brands like Haide, Howe Tech and Efemmak.

1998
Hala begins operations in the United Arab Emirates with a dream to provide a burgeoning market with quality used forklifts and heavy machinery from Japan. While we realised early on that journey was not going to be all smooth sailing, a small team in Hala came together with a combined passion to succeed against all odds.
2000
Soon Hala began to spread its footprint with its first division in Sharjah – forklifts for rent – catering to the growing requirements of various industries across the emirates of Sharjah, Dubai, AbuDhabi, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, covering the entire UAE. Renting forklifts proved to be a huge success and soon became an integral part of the Hala offering.
2001
Next, we added Sideloading Trucks to collect ISO shipping containers from the ports and ground the containers at customers’ yard. This made the process of stuffing and destuffing of the containers convenient and safe.
2003
Hala partners with Heli, China’s No.1 Forklift manufacturer and the world’s No. 8 brand for material handling equipment. Since it began manufacturing in 1958, Heli has been known internationally for its tough and efficient forklifts. It produces more than 300,000 units and is a public company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
2010
By the turn of the decade, we adopted SAP B1 software to increase operational efficiency and productivity. With this, we garnered the technological edge to ensure that our entire systems and procedures run smoothly. Operations became smoother, decision making became faster, deliveries became streamlined, financial management improved and we began to achieve better control over product and spare parts inventories.
2014
Keeping with the Hala ethos of leading the industry, we introduced Heli Wheel Loaders to the UAE market. We also started a separate division for Specialised Forklifts, dealing with Large Forklifts, Side-loading Forklifts and Explosion Proof Forklifts.
2015
Opened showroom in Ras Al Khor to display our forklifts. It was the largest single-brand dedicated showroom in the UAE.

CUSTOMER TRAINING PROGRAMS INITIATED.
G2 REACH TRUCK LAUNCHED.
We launched a series of successful customer training programs to familiarize operators, and managers with Heli forklifts. The Heli G2 Reach Truck was also launched this year.

With the expansion of the Hala Spare parts division in Sharjah, we can provide the appropriate parts at the most affordable prices within the minimum possible time across the UAE.

Born in Turkey, Ceksan is the fastest growing sweeper manufacturer in Europe. Over the years, it has achieved incredible success by producing the highest quality machines and providing the best and quickest after sales service.
Sinoboom is one of the leading Aerial Work Platform manufacturers from China. Within a short period of time, it has transformed itself into an industry pioneer, offering world-class safety and innovation to demanding clients all across the globe.
2019
Ajax Engineering is the world’s largest Self Loading Concrete Machine manufacturer. Ajax machines are designed tough and are easy to operate and maintain, even in hot, arid conditions.
2023
These three leading Chinese brands in Facility Management Equipment are exported worldwide and are known for their innovative technology. With the addition of these brands, Hala aims to meet the growing needs of the UAE.
Our senior managers are responsible for planning and directing the work of the respective teams reporting to them, monitoring their work, and taking corrective action when necessary. They ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire team.
